Click here for more information on each film
Horror and romance? In October ?
Keep up to date with the latest films for October. I love using IMDB as It allows me to do this easily and always shows important information on the film such as director actors and reviews. This month lots of films will be on release but one that screams at me is the remake of Carrie based on the novel by Steven King ,directed Kimberly Peirce. Captain Phillips is also a film I look forward to this month that I have discussed in an earlier post also set to be released on October 11th. This month we will also receive a special present from Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger with the film Escape Plan that will be released on October 18th.Directed by Mikael Håfström ,Escape plan is a film about a man who is trapped in an intense prison that he designed and should be the classic action pumped fire jumping fight scare that all action lovers "dig". Romeo and Juliet directed by Carlo Carlei released on October 11th is a shock to me as the classic romance has been remade and released in the most horrific month of the year with Halloween fast moving in.Will Romeo and Juliet be a success ?

October 2013 has a wide genre range from horror to romance with action and history with the October 18th release of 12 Years a Slave. I think the movies in October will be interesting ;predicting non will hit the box office top 10 list of 2013 but certainly include an array of genres in a much controversial month were horror conventions in my opinion should be followed. I'm excited to see the outcome from audience's.

What do you think ?

- Blogs - Kermode Uncut - The Lone Ranger Rules By Mark Kemode BBC

Mark Kermode
Can't be a comedy ey? What do you think about Kermode's list? What does makes a film a block buster success ?
A great director Gore Verbinski and a huge budget of $250 million are ones that come to mind yet Lone Ranger defies both. For the wrong reasons!

I've posted this video as trust I Kermode's point of view as a well known film critic, and these points will be great towards the story board we will be doing later on In the year at AS.

Highest Grossing Directors At The Box Office

Steven Spielberg
I am not surprised at all at any one of the names listed in this list. Each director has a unique gift that makes each film a success.

I've posted this article because I believe it is important to appreciate and acknowledge the directors who make films what they are. The role of a director it vital to a film deciding on the mise en scene lighting and every other aspect; all for our enjoyment.

Steven Spielberg: $8,440 billion
James Cameron: $6,201 billion
Peter Jackson: $4,612 billion
Robert Zemeckis: $4,094 billion
Chris Columbus: $3,852 billion

Spielberg not surprisingly top of the list  I have to admit it reflects his brilliant work and rightly so involved in films such as Jurassic Park ,Back to the future and ET; which have all become timeless classics for all audiences to enjoy. Personally I love Spielberg's work with Back to the Future being one of my favourite films of all time.

Week 2 Real-life Captain Phillips attends movie premiere alongside Tom Hanks

Captain Phillips is a film based on the real life events of Captain Phillips when his ship was hijacked by pirates. Personally I love a film based on true life events such as Titanic ( the tragic sinking) and The Pursuit of Happyness.

In theatre's October 18.

Tom Hanks meeting the "real-life" Captain Phillips was important to me as he has portrayed him in the film and was a right to Phillips to be allowed to join in the celebrations of the premier for a film that would not of been made if it was not for his terrifying story.

The authors who hated the film versions of their books

I always loved the idea of The Shinning. Happy family Dad Mum and Son stay in a hotel ,built on an old Indian burial ground over the winter ; Dad goes mad and murder is array, but watching the film I felt something was lacking. I believed the deterioration of Jack Nicolson's character was not shown. Brilliant actor but edgy from the beginning didn't work for me.

Roald Dahl has also shared his dislike to the 1971 Charlie and the Chocolate adaptation with Gene Wilder. As a fan who has read both book and watched the film ;Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is still magically wonderful in film as it is on paper. I disagree with Dahl and believe that Gene Wilder was the perfect Wonka capturing his unique character.

The Hunger Games Catching Fire
The Hunger Games Catching Fire is set to make a huge mindboggling total of $950 million which is roughly £597328369.92.But why is The Hunger Games Catching Fire set to make this much money?
For a start the film is based on the novels written by Suzanne Collins and already has a substantial fan base (including me).The film is a sequel to the first film The Hunger Games which was also a great success grossing $691 million worldwide. The film has already gained the peoples trust and will have people fighting to see the next instalment. I for one can't wait for the 22nd of November were I can finally see Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence portray Katniss in her next adventure back into the games. Real. May the odds be ever in her favour!

Julianne Moore Joins 'The Hunger Games' Cast As President Alma Coin

Julianne Moore Joins 'The Hunger Games' Cast As President Alma Coin
An update in the latest news on the franchise that is The Hunger Games. A film based on the novels by Suzanne Collins. As a fan of both books and film I think that Julianne Moore is the perfect person to play Alma Coin with an edge of sharpness to her ora.

Rebel Without A Cause   Director : Nicholas Ray 1955
One of James Deans most magnificent performances follow him start a new school with knives and car runs .Pay particular attention to his exceptional portrayal of a drunken lost soul at the beginning. James Dean only shot a few films in his short life but Rebel Without A Cause is a rare piece of acting that must be adored and appreciated.
